Isaloni

The modular cardboard stools are easy to assemble and disassemble. They can get used as coffee shop furniture or anywhere else needed at the Isaloni. I think it is a 'flexible' design which suits several occasions and can get used for wide range of occasions.

Final Model

Stool which holds everything together pretty easily. It was a nightmare to make though... It was very hard to get the angles right even if I calculated every single bend. It makes a big difference with which material thickness you are working with. It really kept my head spinning to get an end result which is acceptable.... Now I'm very glad it is all done!! ;-) Next time I definately would get it laser cut to get a more accurate result!

Final Model

There are two ways of sitting on the chair. It will hold 150kg because of the way it is constructed.

Carrying the flatpack

The chair can get easily folded to achive a more compact size for carrying around.

Final Model Flat Pack

The stool flatpack consists of one main part. The box which goes through the middle of the box makes up the second part. All the cuts have been done by hand.... even all the V-cuts... Yep, it was a nightmare...!!! It is very hard to cut V-cuts for such a big scale product.

1:1 Model

It took quite a lot of time to find out the right angles to be able to fold it together neatly. Several geometric calculations had to be made to make this chair work properly. The cardboard is thin but still has quite a lot of strength in it. It will be a challenge to make it as accurate as possible with the 10mm thick X Board.
